Last updated: November 1, 2026 · Applies to heicv.pages.dev and the HEICV browser extension
Unlike most online converters, HEICV does not upload your files anywhere. Specifically, we do not collect:
When you drop a HEIC photo or a Live Photo into the converter:
libheif decodes it locally<canvas> elementNo network request containing your media is ever made. You can verify this by opening your browser's DevTools → Network tab while converting: you will see no upload traffic.
The page itself loads these static assets from our hosting provider:
| Resource | Purpose |
|---|---|
main.js | Application logic |
assets/libheif/libheif-bundle.mjs | HEIC decoder (open source) |
vendor/gifenc.esm.js | GIF encoder (open source) |
workers/gif-worker.js | Background encoding thread |
These requests contain no information about your files.
